Physician Shares Stroke Knowledge at San Diego
State Game
First Scripps La Jolla is named a comprehensive stroke center by the Joint Commission, and now everyone wants to recognize the physicians that helped the hospital earn that honor.
Maybe that’s not exactly how it happened, but Dr. Frank Coufal was honored on the court at last Saturday’s San Diego State basketball game.
Dr. Coufal was presented with a signed basketball and also participated in a live radio interview prior to the Aztecs game. Among the topics he discussed were how to recognize the signs, symptoms and treatment for stroke. Dr. Coufal was also able to include a plug for the hospital and our most recent accolade.
The whole was made possible through Scripps ongoing partnership with San Diego State. Scripps maintains a presence at Aztecs basketball games throughout the year.
